The SBG6700-AC requires WiFi Multimedia (WMM)-capable clients, usually a separate feature enabled at the client network settings, and the client PC software that makes use of Differentiated Services (Diffserv). These priorities are mapped into four Access Categories, in increasing order of priority: WiFi Multimedia currently implements wireless Quality of Service (QoS) by transmitting data depending on the priority settings. Certain types of data that are sensitive to delays, such as voice or video, must be prioritized ahead of others, less delay-sensitive types, such as email.
WiFi Multimedia is an advanced feature that allows the SBG6700-AC to prioritize various types of data traveling over the wireless network.
